My favorite of late, have been a series of New Mexican illustrations created for Las Cruces’ first distillery, Dry Point Distillers, operated by Chris Schaefer.
I like to think that I love my city as much as the next guy, but not if the next guy is Chris Schaefer. With a Cruces or Die tattoo above his knee, Chris likes every detail – unfiltered and raw – about this city. And he wanted to see that in every illustration for Dry Point,
“I don’t want a well-fed, well-groomed Montana coyote, Jamila. I want a Chihuahuan desert coyote, with a notched ear and a scraggle to match.”
